Wow, I find myself getting further and further behind in these blogs! But I have a feeling I'm not the only one! I can't believe that our little Easter break is only 6 days away! Even though we only have friday and monday off, I think it will be a welcomed break from school. But what's really crazy is that when we come back there's only ONE MONTH until the end of the semester. 30 days, and then summerrrrr. I mean, of course summer is exciting just because the weather is nice, and it's somewhat care free. My summer will be anything but relaxing. Since I got an apartment up here for next semester I'm going to be working my butt off this summer. So far I have a lifeguarding job set up, that I've had for the past 4 summers, and I'm hopefully getting a nannying job for the days that I have off lifeguarding. The key word there is HOPEFULLY. But I do have a pretty good shot, considering my mom works at a daycare and has so many connections. Well, all I know is that Easter break and summer can't get here quick enough.

Cookies and Ass
So we talked about Donald Trump in class and I got super excited and came up with this....ummm I don't what you wanna call it about him, his hair and Rosie O'Donald- It made me laugh, so I hope some of you get a little chuckle out of it as well:
Donald Trump, oh what a chump
Hair that's fake and bland
Fighting with Rosie
Cause she's so nosey
On a mission to ruin his name
She pulls of his wig
Since she is such a "pig"
She plans on having a snack
She eats it all up
Chewed and chomped with a crunch
As we expected
It's tasteless, dusty and dry

Why are boys so stupid?
Long distance relationships are just not for me. That's what I always told myself, and now I find myself in one and just like I thought it would- it freaking sucks. All we do is fight over stupid shit, for example: Two days he told me thinks I'm going to cheat on him, and then when I got offended and mad he couldn't understand why. I'm not really sure what he expected me to say, do or feel, but I'm pretty sure anyone would be offended if their significant other told them that they think about you cheating on them all the time. So eventually, he told me he didn't mean it the way it came out, and I don't really want to fight anyways so it was over. But then yesterday he's telling me that he doesn't believe it when I say I care about him...so I answered back maybe we shouldn't be together then. Of course this didn't go over too well, and we fought for about 2 hours straight until he decided he's just picking fights because he misses me. That seemed so stupid to me that I didn't even know what to say so that fight ended as well. I feel like I am forced to let go of a lot of things I normally wouldn't, and it's just not fair. So as a formally concluded, long distance relationship are NOT for me- but I'm trying the best I can to make this work...since we're technically not THAT far away, and it's only for another 2 1/2 months or however long is left. And another thing, how can you say I don't think we should be in a relationship right now, but when I come home for the summer....yeah then we should be. If I was in the other position, I think I would slap the person who said that to me. But I find myself wanting to say it. In conclusion-
This sucks, and I want to go home.

Ramblings
This weekend, I went home for my birthday. I turned 19, and that seems so old to me. I didn't really do anything that special for my day- but being home was special enough considering that we got 30 inches of snow and everything was closed on Wednesday. I thought I wasn't going to be able to ride the Amtrak and then the train from Penn into Long Island. But, everything was fine and my friend Cait and I wound up getting home just fine.
On my first night home, nothing exciting really happened. I just hung out with my friend Tara who was leaving for Mexico the next day and was going to miss my birthday, and my boyfriend Anthony.
The next day was actually my birthday and I had such a good day. I basically just hung out with Anthony all day, and then went out to dinner with my friends Kirstin and Cait. We went to Applebees and of course they had to make the waiters and waitresses sing for me. It's the most embarssing thing- but I also felt honored at the same time. Everyone in the resteraunt looks at you and I have to say, I like the attention. Haha.
On saturday, since I went out to eat the night before with my friends my mom made the meal of my choice. I wanted chicken cutlets for some reason, and I was so happy because I got to bring some back to school! For one meal I can escape the horrible food of the cafeteria, so that made my day.
Sadly, St. Rose does not have off for Presidents day like every other college/school/bank/post office in the rest of America so I had to travel back to Albany tonight.

The Duke Blue Devis: I'm not a fair weather fan.
I decided to write my first post (since blogger had not been working for me) about Duke. I love the Duke Blue Devils, I have ever since 2001, when I was just beginning to watch college basketball with my dad, we turned on a Duke game late in the second half and these two teams I have never heard of, living in NY and being a fan of the Big East, Duke and Maryland were playing. Duke was losing by 10 points with 50 seconds remaining. OK, Maryland wins...boy was I wrong. Duke came back in what is known as the 50 second miracle and scored 10 points to tie the game and send it into overtime. I think Duke wound up losing that game, but scoring 10 points in 50 seconds was enough for me to fall in love.
I love everything about Duke- it's rich history, the players(JJ Redick, Shane Battier, Mike Dunleavly, Chris Duhon, Jay Williams, Lee Melchioni...to name a few of my favorites) the coach (Mike Krzyzewski), and just Duke it's self. All this being said, besides that first season I became a fan (2001) Duke hasn't won a National Championship since. The next 4 years (the JJ Redick Era) were filled with upsets and close calls. Bringing me to this season. Duke started out ranked extremely low because they lost their two power seniors JJ Redick and Shelden Williams. This was the first time in Duke history that two sophomores had been named captains. Everyone was underestimating Duke. However, they started to prove the critics wrong, coming out in the pre-season with a very strong record. Then came conference games- Duke started 0-2 for the first time since 1996. This would have been ad enough, except Duke then went on to win it's next couple of games. Then, the unthinkable happened- Duke lost AGAIN to Virginia. This wasn't as earth shattering though, because a few days later the disgusting, ugly, stupid Tar Heels lost as well, preserving Duke's standings in the ACC rankings.
Duke had a game tonight, where they led by as many as 17 points. They went on to lose this game, by 1. With 7.7 seconds left on the clock they had a missed lay-up and two missed tip ins. If you heard a blood curdling scream around 4:37pm that was me over in Brubacher yelling at the TV. Duke has now lost two in a row (again) and has their in-state rival North Carolina and in my opinion the biggest, and best rivalry in all of sports on Wednesday. Hopefully, losing two in a row is not sitting well with the Dukies and they will come back and annihilate the stupid idiots that comprise the North Carolina Tarheels....if not, I am prepared for the cruel teasing that will come at around 11:00pm on Wednesday.
